Graduation season is upon us! Chances are, you'll probably be attending at least one or two high school graduation parties this season, whether it's for your niece, your neighbor, or you own child. College is expensive...and purchasing the supplies for college is just as expensive. But, maybe you don't want to just give the usual Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards out, or, another hoodie from the college they'll be attending because face it, they've probably got five already and they'll accumulate plenty more over the next few years! Below we are providing you with a list of gifts that are both thoughtful and certainly useful — any grad would definitely appreciate them!
This is pretty standard. We know that sometimes people may like to avoid just giving cash as gifts, but honestly, for high school grads going off to college, cash is pretty much the most useful gift ever!
TV STREAMING SERVICE SUBSCRIPTION
Many college students don't even have TV's in their dorms anymore — they simply stick to online TV streaming services like Netlflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. A subscription to any of these sorts of services will definitely be a gift that is well used!
College campuses can be enormous, so having a bike is really useful.
FILLED PHOTO FRAMES
Give the grad framed photos or collages that they can hang in their dorm to make it feel a little more like home. They're probably so busy shopping for the big dorm items that they may forget the small things like this.
GROCERY STORE GIFT CARDS
Find out what the local grocery store on their campus is and get a gift card that they can use when they get tired of meal hall food.
It doesn't even have to be something fancy, a basic machine will do the job. Consider adding a few bags of coffee grounds in as well, and maybe a cute mug or travel cup. A coffee machine is a must have, especially for students with 8 a.m. classes!
A HOMETOWN GOODIE BOX
Put together a little box of classic hometown items (foods that are maybe made in the grad's hometown, or are very popular in the region). This will give them a little taste of home anytime they're feeling homesick.
