I'll be honest with you. I am definitely one of those people that carry EVERYTHING at all times. When I say everything, I seriously mean it. I'm the person that my friends, family, and boyfriend always look to when we're out and about and they need anything from a tissue to tweezers to duct tape. Yes, I have it all. Unfortunately, this means that I can never go out of the house simply carrying a cute little clutch because let's face it—there's no way I could fit all of my necessities into such a small space! I usually carry around the same types of items no matter where I'm going, but, depending on the season, I do alter my 'stock'. My purse is probably at its highest capacity in the winter because I like to be prepared for any sort of cold-weather [emergency] situation. Below I am going to delve into the pockets of my purse (well, large totebag) and share with you the items that I feel are complete MUST-HAVES. Take some tips from me and add these items to your own purse. One day you'll really need them and you'll thank me for the suggestions!

I would think that this is a pretty obvious item that people would keep on hand, but, surprisingly it's not. I keep one, sometimes two, travel packs of tissues on me at all times...so I have enough for myself and some for all of my friends and boyfriend who constantly badger me for them.
It's winter. Germs are everywhere. I like to feel somewhat clean. Pick a scent that you like, but be warned, once you pull out your cute little hand sanitizer bottle, everyone around you will probably ask you to pass it around!
I love lozenges because they provide easy, on-to-go relief for colds, sore throats, etc. Wedderspoon Manauka Honey Lozenges are organic, taste yummy, and work amazingly. Keep a handful of these in your purse during the winter months.
Gloves + Hand Warmers
Because no one likes when their fingers turn blue! I actually keep two pairs of gloves in my purse, because I'm a nice person. One pair for me, and one for my boyfriend who never seems to have his own gloves. Lol! I also like to keep those one-time use, self activated hand warmers in my bag for days when I'm outside for long periods of time in the extreme cold.
Even with gloves on, the harsh winter air is bound to make your hands rough and cracked. Applying hand lotion throughout the day helps the skin heal quickly and stay strong. Keep a small bottle of lotion in your bag so you can easily apply it all day long.
Lip balm takes up hardly any space so this is something you should most definitely keep in your purse. How horrible is it to go through an entire day with cracked lips? Wedderspoon Organic Manuka Honey Lip Balm With Peppermint is my favorite to carry around in the winter. It's soothing, all-natural, and doesn't have a funky taste like some lip balms do.
I hate being caught in the rain so I always carry a small, fold-up umbrella with me. Choose one of those super small ones so that it doesn't take up a lot of space and doesn't weigh you down.
I basically live on my phone. When the battery dies, it's a tragedy. I do not go out without a spare phone charger! I have a separate one that always stays in my purse so I don't have to worry about remembering to pack my regular home-use one.
I used to always find myself in situations where I needed to write something down and didn't have a pen so now I always carry one with me. You could also carry a little notebook or scratch paper if you want, to write on, but I tend to just write on the backs of the old receipts that clutter my purse.
Nothing makes for a less productive day than a headache! I have such a low pain tolerance, so, I always have a bottle of pain killer with me!
Along with headaches, an empty stomach and lack of energy can really slow you down when you're out and about running errands. It's always good to keep a few easy to eat snacks in your purse, like granola bars, boxes of raisins, or Honey On The Go Manuka Honey Travel Packs.
What do YOU carry around in your purse? I'd love to hear your suggestions of what you cannot leave home without!
